I am a theoretical chemist, interested in understanding how light interacts with molecules. This topic is very important for many daily applications and also for understanding what happens in the atmosphere when molecules absorb sunlight.

I am assistant professor at Durham University in the Department of Chemistry, where I started my independent carrier in November 2017. My research group, the In Silico Photochemistry Group - see https://in-silico-photochem.com

Our research focuses on understanding how light interacts with molecules and triggers sometimes unexpected chemical reactions. This topic is of first importance for photovoltaics, light-emitting devices, atmospheric chemistry, or simply to understand vision, to name a few examples.
